UNICEF: Tapping the Power of Water

In 2007, UNICEF launched its first new initiative in over 50 years, the Tap Project. The basic premise is to raise funds for clean drinking water in developing nations by charging people for tap water in restaurants and other venues, an amenity that most people in the developed world take for granted (a glass of water is usually complementary in most restaurants in the developed world).

Is Bottled Water Somehow Worse than Bottled Sugar Water?

Despite the rant on this blog, we at Clean Hydration would like to present a simple reason for why focusing on the disposable bottled water situation, and not say, the disposable bottled soda situation makes sense: potable, pure, certified clean drinking water is available to the vast majority of the population in developed countries through alternate, and less detrimental means. Substituting clean and possibly filtered tap water (for example) with bottled water is a simple action that is within most people's reach to make.
